2019年2月3日、一橋大学国立キャンパス・インテリジェントホールにて平成30年度第６回一橋大学政策フォーラム「人文学・社会科学の社会的インパクトとは何か？」が開催された。本フォーラムは、昨今顕在化しつつある人文学・社会科学の危機を社会的インパクトという概念から捉え直すべく、人文学・社会科学の現状と展望を探ることを目的に企画されたものである。 50名余りの来場者を迎えた当日は、加藤泰史先生（一橋大学）の開会挨拶に続いて、春山浩康氏（文部科学省研究振興局学術企画室長）の文部科学省の関連政策の説明がなされ、ドロテア・ムラデノヴァ氏（ライプツィヒ大学）、ギブソン松井佳子氏（神田外語大学）、小川仁志氏（山口大学）、千田有紀氏（武蔵大学）、後藤玲子氏（一橋大学）、村上祐子氏（立教大学）、各氏の報告があった。そののちに安川一氏、松塚ゆかり氏（ともに一橋大学）がコメンテーターとして加わった全体討論が行われ、フロアからの質問も相次いだ。若手研究者の現状や人文学・社会科学の情報発信のあり方など、様々な視点から議論が取り交わされ、これらの重要性について合意が得られた。

On the Feb of 3rd 2019, Hitotsubashi University convened The 6th Policy Forum on the theme ‘What is the Social Impact of the Humanities and the Social Sciences?’. The purpose of this forum was to explore the current conditions and prospects of the Humanities and the Social Sciences (HSS), reevaluating their tangible crisis from the viewpoint of ‘social impact’. Over 50 people attended. Following the opening address delivered by Prof. Yasushi Kato (Hitotsubashi Univ.), Hiroyasu Haruyama (the head of Academic Planning Office, Research Promotion Bureau MEXT) explained the MEXT policy regading the HSS. Presentations were given by Dr. Dorothea Mladenova (Leipzig Univ.), Prof. Keiko Gibson Matsui (KUIS), Prof. Hitoshi Ogawa (Yamagichi Univ.), Prof. Yuki Senda (Musashi Univ.), Prof. Reiko Goto (Hitotsubashi Univ.) and Prof. Yuko Murakami (Rikkyo Univ.), with Prof. Hajime Yasukawa(Hitotsubashi Univ.) and Prof. Yukari Matsuzuka (Hitotsubashi Univ.) serving as commentators. After presentations, a lively discussion ensued with numerous contributions coming from the audience. While there were diverging opinions regarding concrete strategies, participants agreed on the essential importance of giving support to young researchers and using the media to promote the HSS.
